Saturday is the Cyclone challenge and is split into three routes designed to cater for cyclists with contrasting ability. Some of the staff from the Hub and Saddle Skedaddle will be there riding, and we’ll also have our gazebo where if you come and see us we’ll fill your water bottle up with some energy drink! All rides meander through the beautiful Northumbrian countryside, passing through quiet lanes and hidden unspoilt villages. All rides start and finish at the Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, Kingston Park and will use part of the route to be used on the Sunday by the very top riders in the Country when they compete in the Beaumont Trophy Premier Calendar RR. This race has been won by many famous riders and in 2011 the winner of the Men’s National Road Race Championships, Bradley Wiggins, was awarded the Trophy.
Entries for this race close on the 24th June, or possibly even sooner depending on whether or not they reach capacity.
