The NARC Festival 2013

Produced in partnership with performance poetry organisation Apples And Snakes, the Cycle Hub will host an event as part of this years NARC Festival on Saturday 6th July between 5pm – 9pm. Newcastle’s Scott Tyrell, aka the Standup Poet, headlines the stage, bringing his unique sideways take on the 21st century day to day grace and grind.

North East music scene stalwart and the official Bard of Benton, Nev Clay’s storytelling songs, wisely plucked guitar and between-song banter is a joy to behold.

Ann Porro performs deadly serious comic poetry, blues monologues and oblique conversations on the outlandish nature of ordinary existence.

This Little Bird, aka Rebecca Young, and her acoustic folk and country songs weave earthy vocals with experience and emotion.

Asa J Maddison has been regularly wowing spoken word audiences all over the North East with his intense performances and his disgustingly beautiful use of metaphor. If you have ever taken political advice from a decapitated Barbie Doll, or think love is ‘a whinet on your arse’ then Asa J. Maddison is a must see.

Deborah Moore takes inspiration from whatever’s around her to nudge her pen, from life’s experiences to random soul explosions.
