Walker Route

Newcastle City Council have started developing plans for the Walker route. Because they only have £100,000 available this financial year they are concentrating on the eastern section of the route from the riverside to the eastern end of Byker Bridge.

They have drawn up a plan of this section highlighting where the issues are and compiled issues logs of each road on the route. For each issue two solutions are offered and rough costs given.  The solutions offered and the costs are all provisional.  Until they know with more certainty what we are going to do, it is not cost effective to undertake more detailed plans and costings. There will be a working group on Thursday 11th October from 5 to 7pm in the Swan Room of the Civic Centre to look at the options.

Please let me know (anne.clark@newcastle.gov.uk) if you intend to come along.
