Beaumont Trophy

The Beaumont trophy has been running since 1952, the year after the Gosforth Road club was formed.

There have been notable winners over the years including Sir Bradley Wiggins who has been crowned champion twice, most recently back in 2011. The race is centred around the Northumberland village of Stamfordham. The day will be full of entertainment with lots on offer for all the spectators. Ourselves and Skedaddle will be situated at the village green for the day, so if you’re planning to come along pop over and say hello!

The race starts 1.00pm and will be a combination of two circuits. The larger circuit is 22.3mls and includes the climb of the Ryals which will be tackled 3 times by the riders. Once the big circuit has been completed 3 times passing through the villages of Matfen  and Stamfordham on each lap the riders will move onto the finishing circuit of 13.9 miles which will be completed 3 times making a total race distance of 108 miles.
